Know the Inevitable Need of Potty Training Your Dog at a Young Age

Earlier the better, start young. Young puppies grasp new things quicker compared to old dogs and have impressionable minds. They assimilate new things better. If you don’t instruct the puppy in basic toilet behavior your home will stink with its pee and poop all over the house, on furniture, carpet and your bed. So you should properly train the pet at the right time and in a suitable manner.

Be aware of the signals showing a desire to relieve it self. The dog will be restless, go round in circles, sniff and scratch at the door. You should immediately take the dog outdoors for peeing and pooping at the specified area.

A leash plays an important part in making the dog urinate and defecate at the appropriate place. Tag at the leash gently and guide the dog to the specified spot. Repeating this habituates the dog to pee or poop at the right space. Take the pet out for walk early in the morning, after food and before going to bed. Praise the dog whenever it is right.

Do not punish the dog physically for its mistake as it is still under training and needs time to learn completely. Be tolerant and patient as a trainer in dealing with mistakes and occasional accidents. In communications be firm but friendly and reveal your disappointment

Take them out for walk to pee or poop and see that they don’t do it any where else. Select a place outdoors for the pet to pee and poop but they may mess up your garden or that of the neighbor.

Your persistence is the key to your success in training. Don’t get frustrated and leave the training midway. That will not solve your problem. You have to pay the price of training your dog to enjoy the great moments with him later.
